the ambiguity...the ambiguity...
the nyu vaccine study called yesterday to let me know that my results were in and they wanted to make an appointment for this week. they said it shouldn't be a long visit, only about an hour. they will just need to draw some blood and talk about...stuff. that's pretty much the message they left word for word, including the ellipses.
what does that mean? do i actually have to call and show up for the appointment to find out? for someone who divines things from stanzas of poetry forgotten this is driving me nuts. on one hand, the need to draw blood pretty much fixes that the results were poz; if the results were neg why would they need to draw more blood? on the other hand i would think that the visit would last more than an hour if they were to go over the test results and my options for treatment with a study doctor. as i write this it sounds like i'm trying to weasel out of this poz diagnosis again. i know i can clear this up by calling and going in for my appointment, which i will do once i figure out what day i can take off, but i find these attempts at divination an enjoyable diversion and an indulgence, regardless of how ridiculous they may be.
